Keynote Speaker Announced

We are delighted to announce that Ruth McCambridge, Editor in Chief of the Nonprofit Quarterly, will be our keynote speaker at the Nonprofit Excellence Awards Luncheon.

McCambridge transformed the Nonprofit Quarterly into a national journal in 1999. Her background includes 35 years of experience in nonprofits, primarily in organizations that mix grassroots community work with policy change. Beginning in the late 1990s McCambridge spent a decade at the Boston Foundation developing and implementing its diverse capacity building programs. She has spoken and published extensively on nonprofit management and governance.

Ruth’s presence at our luncheon coincides with publication of the Nonprofit Quarterly’s leadership issue. Luncheon guests will have the opportunity to purchase subscriptions to the Quarterly at a special discount.

Awards, which include a cash grant of $1,000, are:

Jane T. Russell
Excellence in Governance Award sponsored by Laird Norton Tyee
presented to the nonprofit board demonstrating exemplary practices in one or more of its primary governance responsibilities.

Innovation Award
The nonprofit organization selected will have demonstrated innovative internal or external strategies or approaches designed to achieve improved performance or impact (limited to small nonprofits with annual gross revenue under $500,000).

Impact Award
The recipient of the Impact Award will have provided a service or program that has demonstrable and measurable impact on the problem being addressed or the need being met.

Corporate Community Support Award
This award will honor the business or corporation in the South Puget Sound region providing integrated support for the nonprofit sector including contributions, volunteer support and in-kind services targeted to helping one or more nonprofits achieve greater sustainability.
